Obama killed Osama, did you hear? ...

Prince Will and Kate had just walked down the aisle

Three billion watched and for a time we smiled

Perhaps some hope remains …when love is unrestrained …

we see man at his best, for just a while

Of course our hopes would soon be dashed by fear

as stories of the royals now disappear

Millions take a breath ...our focus turns to death:

Obama killed Osama, did you hear?

The Presidential pride was clear to see

America was filled with shouts of glee

The rest of us were numb …what have we now become …

to think this execution makes us free?

Once upon a time the Church would stand

and speak the Word of God across the land

But we were twitting most …and typing Facebook posts …

as the world looked on and didn’t understand

The world is waiting for our salt and light

Which God requires to end this evil night

As death and hate increase … the world cries out for peace …

while Christians argue who is wrong or right!

The message of the cross is very clear

The death of Jesus ended death and fear

Now love and grace abound … salvation has been found …

forgiveness, grace and mercy have come near.

Obama killed Osama, did you hear?

Was your head hung in shame, or did you cheer?

Perhaps, like me you thought … it’s good that he was caught …

but what would Jesus do if He was here?
